Virtual Access Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Provide education to Health Care Providers regarding patient support programs, access, and reimbursement by utilizing AbbVie-approved tools and services.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on payer policies and requirements at local, regional, and national levels.

• Guide HCPs on the status of patient prescriptions and eligibility for programs.

• Inform healthcare offices about payer processes and procedures.

• Build and maintain relationships with key providers within the designated territory.

• Ensure effective, clear, and concise communication with FRMs, HCPs, and other stakeholders.

• Collaborate with sales, market access, and patient service teams.

• Leverage approved resources and data to enhance HCP education initiatives and improve the patient experience.

• Identify and communicate payer trends to Patient Services and market access account management teams.

• Spearhead initiatives aimed at improving processes to boost system efficiency and access strategies for patients.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or an Associate degree in biological sciences, pharmacy, business-related field, or a comparable qualification is preferred.

• 3-5 years of experience in account management, payer account management, and/or access and reimbursement.

• In-depth knowledge of payer policy processes, published criteria, and documentation related to coverage, coding, prior authorizations, and appeal processes.

• Proven understanding of the rules, regulations, and risks tied to reimbursement support services.

• Comprehensive insight into the dynamics of commercial and governmental payer access.

• Excellent communication skills and capability to navigate cross-matrix environments effectively.

• Strong critical thinking skills to evaluate and prioritize workloads at the account level.

• Ability to collaborate with HCPs, Field Reimbursement Managers, sales, market access, and patient service teams.
