Video Streaming, Real-Time Media Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +6 more countries.

📋 Description

• Create scalable architectures for video processing, streaming, and real-time media delivery.

• Establish technical solutions utilizing GStreamer or FFmpeg.

• Design networking architectures for real-time applications using WebRTC, RTP, STUN, TURN, SFU, and UDP.

• Engineer globally distributed AWS infrastructure to support scalable media workloads.

• Develop highly available and scalable cloud deployments across various AWS regions.

• Formulate infrastructure strategies encompassing EKS, load balancing, autoscaling, caching, CDN, and serverless services.

• Make architectural choices regarding performance, scalability, reliability, and global traffic distribution.

• Collaborate with Senior Engineers and other Architects on implementation and technical decisions.

• Offer hands-on technical guidance throughout the development and implementation phases.

• Assist in the design and implementation of a highly scalable video streaming platform.

• Work closely with senior engineers to build and enhance the platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional software engineering experience.

• Extensive architecture experience in designing scalable and distributed systems.

• Professional background in building video streaming, media processing, or real-time communication systems.

• Deep understanding of real-time networking and media delivery.

• Strong expertise in AWS architecture and infrastructure.

• Experience in designing or supporting globally distributed and multi-region systems.

• Ability to engage hands-on with engineering teams rather than solely operating at a high-level architecture layer.

• Excellent customer-facing communication abilities.

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Substantial experience with video processing and streaming technologies, including GStreamer or FFmpeg, H.264/H.265, HLS/DASH, fMP4/TS.

• Significant experience with real-time networking and media communication, including RTP, WebRTC, STUN, TURN, SFU, UDP.

• Strong familiarity with AWS infrastructure and globally distributed deployments, including S3, CloudFront, Lambda, EKS, Autoscaling, Network Load Balancer (NLB), Global Accelerator, Valkey/Redis, and multi-region deployments.

• Experience in building and supporting scalable production systems.

• Background in working with video streaming or real-time media systems in production settings.

• Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English.
