Video Editor, Podcast Content Repurposing – Virtual Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Edit recordings of podcasts and videos lasting 20–30 minutes.

• Eliminate fillers like ums, ahs, pauses, errors, and minor verbal or visual distractions.

• Adhere to detailed editing guidelines and remove specified sections as requested.

• Incorporate existing intros, outros, music, and branded materials.

• Provide polished videos in formats suitable for uploading.

• Create clear podcast show notes, including guest information, key points, references, and timestamps.

• Identify valuable moments from podcast episodes and generate roughly 2–3 short-form videos per episode.

• Prepare clips for Reels, Shorts, and other comparable social media formats.

• Edit shorter commentary videos for YouTube.

• Design professional YouTube thumbnails in line with branding preferences.

• Organize project files, utilize clear naming conventions, and deliver final assets through Dropbox or similar services.

• Forward completed content and supporting materials to Liz for publishing.

• Assist in mitigating post-production bottlenecks and contribute to a more consistent publishing schedule.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in video editing.

• Preference for those with experience in editing podcast or interview-style content.

• Capability to carry out clean, basic-to-intermediate video editing tasks.

• Strong attention to detail is essential.

• Excellent command of the English language.

• Ability to accurately understand and follow instructions.

• Skill in locating and editing specific sections of long-form content.

• Good file organization abilities.

• Ability to adhere to agreed deadlines.

• Dependable and consistent in follow-through.

• Capacity to work independently with minimal oversight.

• Effective communication skills.

• Preference for those with experience in repurposing long-form content into Reels, Shorts, or other short-form videos.

• Background in creating YouTube thumbnails is preferred.

• Experience in preparing podcast show notes is desirable.

• Basic graphic design skills are a plus.

• Familiarity with cloud-based file-sharing platforms such as Dropbox is preferred.

• Knowledge of AI-assisted video/content tools is desirable.

• Portfolio showcasing relevant editing samples is required.
