Vice President – Transformation Services, Coding, CDI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Oversee coding and CDI transformation evaluations, solution formulation, and implementation projects across various client organizations.

• Perform assessments of workflows, redesign operations, develop future-state operating models, structure governance, and create strategic roadmaps.

• Collaborate with teams in Coding, CDI, HIM, Revenue Cycle, Compliance, Quality, Provider, Technology, Analytics, and executive leadership.

• Analyze current performance metrics and pinpoint operational and financial improvement opportunities.

• Formulate strategies aimed at revenue integrity, enhancing documentation, ensuring compliance, improving quality, driving efficiency, and promoting sustainability.

• Act as the main transformation services contact for designated clients.

• Establish and nurture executive and operational relationships while fostering alignment on transformation priorities, risks, opportunities, and anticipated outcomes.

• Create and present strategic recommendations, action plans, and best practices for enhancing operational performance, workforce planning, technology utilization, process enhancement, governance, and organizational efficiency.

• Assess coding, CDI, analytics, workflows, automation, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies.

• Assist in technology implementations, upgrades, conversions, and optimization efforts.

• Review operational, financial, quality, coding, CDI, and reimbursement data to uncover trends, risks, performance deficiencies, and root causes.

• Lead cross-functional transformation teams, establishing governance, communication, accountability, and performance frameworks.

• Provide executive-level oversight, reporting, presentations, and recommendations throughout transformation projects.

• Evaluate project impacts, outcomes, and return on investment.

• Use, protect, and share patients’ protected health information only in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Adhere to Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures.

• Limit access to protected health information to the minimum necessary for designated responsibilities.

• Undertake additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Clinical Sciences, or a related field.

• Current coding or HIM credential (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CIC, CPC, or equivalent) and a current CDI credential (CCDS, CDIP, or equivalent) are mandatory.

• At least ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience in coding, CDI, revenue cycle, consulting, or related healthcare operations.

• Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale healthcare transformation and performance enhancement initiatives.

• In-depth knowledge of coding, CDI, revenue cycle operations, reimbursement methods, compliance, technology optimization, and process enhancement.

• Familiarity with various EMRs, CAC platforms, CDI software solutions, automation tools, AI technologies, and analytics platforms.

• Strong skills in executive leadership, consulting, project management, and stakeholder engagement.

• Proven ability to lead client-facing initiatives and influence executive stakeholders across multiple healthcare organizations.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and capacity to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.

• Strong problem-solving and creative abilities, with sound judgment and the capacity to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.

• High integrity and reliability, with a strong sense of urgency and a results-oriented mindset.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required.

• Must have a smartphone or electronic device capable of downloading applications for multifactor authentication and security measures.

• Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively, and manage stress effectively.
