Vice President – Platform Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the technological initiatives for Identity, Access & SSO, Portal & Design System, Observability, Metrics & Monitoring, as well as Billing & Metering.

• Supervise the development and enhancement of shared platform architecture and horizontal services.

• Manage a global team comprising over 100 employees.

• Formulate and implement the technology strategy across platform capabilities.

• Expand platform adoption on a global scale through cloud migration, workload modernization, and platform standardization.

• Direct the identity and access strategy, encompassing SSO, RBAC, and authentication infrastructure.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and regional leaders to prioritize investments and foster innovation.

• Spearhead the modernization of enterprise platforms from legacy systems to secure, scalable, cloud-native architectures.

• Establish standards for platform engineering, design system and portal strategy, along with developer-facing tools.

• Develop and enhance observability and billing infrastructure, which includes monitoring, tracing, metering, and monetization.

• Assess and scale emerging platform technologies.

• Align platform investments with growth priorities across Technology, Product, Security, and regional organizations.

• Influence enterprise platform strategy and technology governance through leadership forums.

• Represent Experian's platform engineering capabilities within the technology ecosystem.

• Engage with senior leadership across the US, UK, EMEA, APAC, and Latin America.

• Report directly to the CTO.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of leadership experience in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, identity and access management, or technology product management.

• Proven experience leading large-scale global technology organizations.

• Demonstrated success in building and scaling cloud platforms and shared technology capabilities at an enterprise level.

• Proficiency in AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Capability to influence senior executives and secure stakeholder commitment.

• Skill in translating complex technical strategies into tangible business outcomes.

• Experience mobilizing various business units, engineering teams, and P&L owners to promote adoption without direct authority.

• In-depth understanding of identity, access, observability, and platform technologies.

• Strategic judgment in determining whether to build, buy, scale, or retire capabilities.

• Experience working in regulated industries.

• Governance responsibility for platform engineering standards, identity and access architecture, and design system frameworks across regions and business units.

• Eligibility for US-based work/location requirement.

• Willingness to travel periodically.
