This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +1 more country.
• Enhance developer productivity and enablement throughout the engineering organization.
• Create and refine self-service tools and best practices, including project templates, CI/CD pipelines, and scaffolding utilities.
• Streamline onboarding processes and minimize the time to achieve meaningful contributions to production.
• Facilitate developer experience initiatives such as office hours, internal workshops, and lunch-and-learn events.
• Develop and sustain documentation and runbooks.
• Collect developer experience feedback and utilize it to prioritize the development roadmap.
• Collaborate with engineering teams through shadowing, pairing, and dogfooding practices.
• Contribute to the Platform roadmap and establish clear success criteria.
• Participate in observability as code initiatives.
• Ensure the availability and performance of AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), and MongoDB Cloud infrastructure.
• Strengthen production systems to enhance uptime, graceful degradation, and automated recovery.
• Modernize CI/CD pipelines by implementing GitOps methodologies such as ArgoCD.
• Advance Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Establish or enhance SLAs and SLOs for essential platform infrastructure.
• Collaborate with the Security team to bolster compliance and security measures.
• Identify and implement opportunities for infrastructure cost savings.
• Make architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and advocate for Platform priorities in cross-functional discussions.
• 3–5 years of experience in software engineering.
• Significant experience as a product/application engineer prior to transitioning into platform-related roles.
• Experience in building or contributing to internal developer platforms, portals, or self-service tools.
• Proficiency in designing paved roads or golden paths.
• Experience enhancing CI/CD pipelines for increased reliability, speed, and developer feedback mechanisms.
• Involvement in developer enablement initiatives, including documentation, training, pairing, or internal advocacy.
• Familiarity with developer experience metrics or frameworks such as DORA, SPACE, or internal DevEx surveys.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Datadog.
• Proficient in at least one programming language, such as Go, Python, or TypeScript, or possess strong shell scripting skills.
• Excellent communication abilities and capacity to influence technical direction across teams.
• Comprehensive understanding of AWS services, including IAM, S3, EC2, EKS, RDS, and Lambda.
• Experience in running, maintaining, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters (EKS) in a production, multi-tenant environment.
• Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code, particularly with Terraform.
• Familiarity with configuration/deployment tools such as Helm.
• Hands-on experience with GitOps CI/CD tools like Argo CD or Flux.
• Experience with MongoDB or similar managed database platforms.
• Experience in monitoring and operating production systems using tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Experience working within a standards-compliant environment, such as ISO 27001.
• Position is open to candidates located in the UK or France.
