Vice President of Software Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver hands-on technical guidance for Software Engineering teams.

• Oversee the complete agile software development lifecycle utilizing AI-driven tools and methodologies.

• Promote the adoption of AI-enhanced development, automated testing, code quality assessments, intelligent code reviews, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and cloud-native development practices.

• Mentor and nurture engineers through technical coaching, architectural evaluations, and code reviews.

• Lead the assessment, implementation, and governance of AI technologies and tools.

• Encourage technical excellence, ongoing learning, innovation, accountability, and data-informed decision-making.

• Collaborate with end users, business stakeholders, product owners, architects, cybersecurity teams, and Operational Support teams.

• Establish and evaluate engineering performance metrics.

• Identify technical, operational, and product-related risks and formulate mitigation strategies.

• Recruit, develop, and lead high-performing Engineering teams.

• Champion engineering excellence, continuous modernization, and AI-driven innovation across CIS products and platforms.

• Execute other assigned tasks and responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Over 15 years of progressive technical experience in software engineering.

• More than 7 years of leadership experience managing software development teams employing agile methodologies and AI tools.

• Proven experience in defining software architecture and design standards.

• Proficient in leveraging AI throughout the entire software development lifecycle.

• Demonstrated success in leading software development organizations using agile practices.

• Experience in reviewing and approving technical designs.

• Skilled in establishing coding standards and best practices.

• Ability to influence technology and platform choices with a focus on software quality, maintainability, and scalability.

• Experience in leading modernization and technical debt reduction initiatives.

• Proven success in managing remote and distributed teams and mentoring developers.

• Capability to assess emerging technologies and industry trends.

• Experience in acquiring software products and services and integrating third-party software solutions.

• Exceptional leadership, project management, and communication abilities.

• Business acumen, including the development and management of departmental budgets.

• Ability to translate mission objectives into quantifiable engineering outcomes.

• Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with an emphasis on detail.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

• Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent along with relevant experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree.
