Full Stack Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Act as a key member of a self-directed, cross-functional product team.

• Collaborate effectively with UX designers, Product Managers, and software engineers.

• Provide high-quality customer experiences and enhance systems for ongoing growth.

• Support and maintain developed software, including participation in an on-call rotation.

• Create event-driven microservices and APIs within a distributed architecture.

• Develop dynamic web applications utilizing ReactJS, Node.js, and Backbone.js.

• Build infrastructure on AWS, encompassing EC2, ECS, SNS/SQS, RDS, ElastiCache, and Elasticsearch.

• Engage in event streaming and big data solutions using Kafka and Spark.

• Expand and enhance the existing feature set.

• Contribute to architectural decision-making.

• Improve code quality through reviews and mentorship.

• Take full ownership of problems from start to finish, including scoping, trade-offs, and long-term maintainability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience as a software developer.

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related field, or 3+ years of additional relevant industry experience in place of a degree.

• Proficiency in at least two programming languages, ideally including C#, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Comfortable utilizing AI-augmented development tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor.

• Knowledge of SQL, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, and RDS storage engines, along with understanding when to use each.

• Familiarity with instrumentation methods and data-driven decision-making.

• Strong communication skills through various interactive mediums and documentation.

• Effective teamwork and collaboration abilities.

• Experience with event streaming architecture and stream processing using Kafka and Spark.

• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.

• Capability to learn other provisioning/configuration tools as necessary.
