Tech Lead, Transaction Monitoring

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and develop the current global Transaction Monitoring engineering team.

• Take responsibility for sprint delivery, code quality, and on-call health.

• Oversee the implementation of the offchain Transaction Monitoring detection suite.

• Drive the development of on-chain Transaction Monitoring, encompassing wallet-level and protocol-level monitoring.

• Construct the necessary data pipelines.

• Create and justify high-level and low-level designs that include system architecture, data models, detection logic, and threshold/tuning frameworks.

• Collaborate with Global Product on the on-chain roadmap.

• Convert regulatory and customer expectations into actionable engineering plans.

• Design reusable architecture and shared engineering resources across Transaction Monitoring and Transaction Surveillance.

• Work in conjunction with compliance, customer success, and solutions teams to enhance alert quality, minimize false positives, and address client tuning requests.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in backend engineering.

• 2+ years in a leadership or technical leadership role.

• Extensive domain knowledge of the financial ecosystem, including fintech, payments, banking, or cryptocurrency.

• Familiarity with concepts related to financial crime or compliance.

• Strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms.

• Proven history of developing high-performance concurrent code.

• Experience in reviewing pull requests and troubleshooting production systems.

• Established ownership of design at both architecture and detailed implementation levels.

• Experience with high-throughput, low-latency data systems.

• Familiarity with streaming technologies like Kafka.

• Experience with analytical databases such as ClickHouse or Snowflake.

• Knowledge of distributed batch processing.

• Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally, with non-engineering stakeholders.

• Experience with AI coding and utilizing coding harnesses.
