Vice President, Extraction β Formulation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Lead and manage the extraction operations across the entire organization.
β’ Create and implement a strategic vision for extraction and formulation processes.
β’ Spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing extraction technologies, filling and formulation methods, and overall operational efficiency.
β’ Oversee multi-site operations to ensure consistency, reliability, and quality across all facilities.
β’ Provide expert insights on trends and technologies related to cannabis extraction, filling, and formulation.
β’ Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations while upholding safety standards.
β’ Collaborate with product development teams to create new extracts, edibles, and concentrates.
β’ Design, test, and deploy technologies at scale in partnership with R&D and engineering teams.
β’ Stay informed about emerging technologies and recommend enhancements for process and product quality.
β’ Establish best practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and facility standards.
β’ Drive ongoing improvements to optimize throughput, yields, and operational efficiency.
β’ Build and lead a team of functional leaders and specialists.
β’ Manage recruitment, training, and performance evaluation processes.
β’ Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing among teams and functions.
β’ Oversee complex extraction and formulation projects across multiple sites.
β’ Work closely with senior leaders in R&D, engineering, quality, and operations.
β’ Report on project advancements, extraction performance, and strategic opportunities to executive leadership.
β’ Comply with safety, GMP, biosecurity, sanitation, PPE, record-keeping, and quality protocols.
β’ A Masterβs degree in biology, chemistry, or engineering is required; a doctoral degree is preferred.
β’ Over 15 years of experience in operations, research and development, or engineering within the cannabis industry.
β’ Previous experience in formulating consumer products is essential.
β’ Proficiency in planning and designing experiments as well as problem-solving.
β’ Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and service a diverse range of equipment and software independently.
β’ Knowledge of laboratory best practices and sanitary design principles.
β’ Advanced mathematical skills are required.
β’ Highly detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilities.
β’ Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially with coworkers and management.
β’ Familiarity with OSHA guidelines pertaining to hazardous chemicals.
β’ Understanding of relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations, safety protocols, local municipal codes, and organizational policies and procedures.
β’ Must pass all required background checks.
β’ Must remain compliant with legal and company regulations for employment in the industry.
β’ A valid driverβs license is required.
β’ Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
β’ Approval from a state badging agency to work in the cannabis industry is necessary.
β’ Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
β’ Competitive salary range of $200,000β$240,000 USD based on experience, qualifications, and/or location.
β’ Positions may qualify for a discretionary annual incentive program based on organizational and individual performance.
β’ Option for a remote work arrangement.
