Vice President – E&S Brokerage, Property

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the underwriting strategy, risk appetite, and portfolio composition for the E&S Property book across all target classes.

• Establish and implement underwriting standards, pricing guidelines, and coverage parameters that align with the book's profitability goals.

• Oversee complex and high-value underwriting decisions; act as the technical expert and escalation point for the team.

• Maintain a systematic approach to accumulation management.

• Monitor and proactively manage loss ratios, combined ratios, and portfolio trends.

• Collaborate with actuarial and finance departments on pricing adequacy, rate monitoring, and reserving inputs.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 10 property underwriters.

• Build and strengthen relationships with key wholesale broker partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in E&S or specialty property underwriting, with significant time spent in a wholesale/non-admitted setting.

• Previous leadership experience in managing underwriting teams.

• Proven track record of developing or overseeing a profitable property book across a wide range of commercial classes.

• Extensive knowledge of commercial property underwriting, including COPE analysis, rate-on-line evaluation, and coverage structure.

• Familiarity with layered property structures (ground-up, primary, quota share, and excess).

• Proficient in ISO and proprietary property forms.

• Skilled in assessing equipment breakdown, property enhancement, and schedule risks.

• Strong comprehension of CAT modeling concepts and accumulation management principles.
