This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish and provide resources for AD&D's vision while ensuring departmental accountability for outcomes.
• Maintain operational excellence across the SAT Suite of Assessments, AP, and ACCUPLACER.
• Guarantee accessible, error-free, and timely assessment delivery.
• Define strategic direction to enhance enterprise-wide content production.
• Lead the strategy for new assessments and item formats in collaboration with program teams, Psychometrics, Technology, and Digital Product.
• Align senior stakeholders, including the CEO, President, and SVP Learning & Assessment, on strategy, progress, and trade-offs.
• Build and direct the Executive Director team overseeing 70+ assessment designers, content developers, analysts, and project managers.
• Set team vision and priorities, monitor progress, coach employees, and manage performance effectively.
• Foster an inclusive and high-performing culture.
• Participate in College Board's Learning & Assessment Leadership Team.
• Represent College Board's assessment perspective at industry conferences, in publications, and within the assessment community.
• Influence internal decisions regarding skills and constructs for assessment and guide the team's efforts.
• Over 10 years of progressive leadership experience, with a background in senior executive roles.
• Expertise in large-scale assessment design and development, psychometrics, and/or the future of work and assessments.
• Evidence-based insights into the future of K-12 assessment, including academic, durable, career-relevant, non-cognitive skills, and AI's influence on assessment.
• Proficiency in principles of validity, fairness, accessibility, and reliability.
• Familiarity with item response theory, classical test theory, structural equation modeling, information yield, discrimination, multidimensionality, and scaling.
• Proven track record of leading assessment or content development organizations through significant transformations.
• Experience managing zero-error, high-volume, deadline-driven assessment operations at scale.
• Capability to lead under intense test security or production pressures.
• Experience in conceptualizing new assessment designs, item types, or measurement approaches and translating them into operational reality.
• Public-facing experience through publications, keynote addresses, or participation in industry panels.
• Ability to build and lead a team of senior managers, including hiring, developing, and holding them accountable.
• Demonstrated strategic and inclusive leadership, with a focus on performance management through evidence-based feedback and coaching.
• Executive presence with the ability to influence across C-suite and senior leadership levels.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the year.
