Veterinary Technology Student Ambassador

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Act as a dedicated representative of the ASPCA® at LaGuardia Community College.

• Stay updated on student externship opportunities and resources provided by the ASPCA®.

• Foster and maintain relationships with fellow veterinary technology students and student organizations on campus.

• Serve as a resource for students seeking information on the ASPCA®, veterinary training externships, resources, and career paths.

• Function as a point of contact and liaison concerning campus events and collaboration opportunities.

• Assist in the planning and execution of campus events and activities with student groups.

• Present opportunities to student organizations and promote upcoming events.

• Create written communications regarding the ASPCA and forthcoming events.

• Maintain academic excellence and prioritize education.

• Adhere to school rules and regulations.

• Exemplify the Core Values of the ASPCA.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled as a veterinary technology student at LaGuardia Community College; individuals not enrolled in this program will not be considered.

• Must be in good academic standing.

• Strong commitment to the Mission and Core Values of the ASPCA®.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to establish relationships with peers.

• Active participation in at least one student group related to the core mission of the ASPCA®.

• Not currently serving as a student ambassador for another veterinary or animal welfare organization, non-profit, or company.

• Ability to commit an average of 3 hours per week during the semester.

• Capable of working independently (self-starter).

• High level of maturity and professionalism.

• Access to a computer for virtual meetings and email communication.

• Ability to temporarily store informational and promotional materials for distribution among LVT peers on campus.

• High School Diploma (Required).

• Proficiency in English.
