Veterinary Student Ambassador

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Act as a committed representative of the ASPCA at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

• Stay updated on all student externship opportunities and resources available through the ASPCA.

• Develop and maintain relationships with veterinary medicine students and student organizations on campus.

• Serve as a resource for students looking for information regarding the ASPCA, veterinary training externship opportunities, resources, and career paths.

• Function as a point of contact and liaison for upcoming campus events and collaboration opportunities.

• Support the logistical planning and execution of on-campus events and activities in conjunction with student groups.

• Present opportunities to student organizations and promote upcoming events effectively.

• Create written communications about the ASPCA and forthcoming events for students.

• Maintain academic excellence and prioritize education.

• Follow school rules and policies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be in good academic standing.

• Strong commitment to the Mission and Core Values of the ASPCA.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to foster relationships with peers.

• Active membership in at least one student group relevant to the core work of the ASPCA (e.g., shelter medicine, animal welfare, DEI-focused group, forensics, etc.).

• Not currently serving as a student ambassador for another veterinary or animal welfare organization, non-profit, or company.

• Capability to dedicate an average of 3 hours per week during the semester to fulfill the responsibilities of an ASPCA Student Ambassador.

• Ability to work independently (self-starter).

• High level of maturity and professionalism.

• Access to a computer for virtual meetings and email communication.

• Ability to temporarily store informational and promotional materials for distribution on campus to CVM peers.

• Proficiency in English (required).

• Currently enrolled as a veterinary medical student at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

• High School Diploma (Required).

• Preference will be given to candidates in their 1st through 3rd years of education.
