This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.
• Act as a Clinical Pathologist for nonclinical safety studies.
• Assess clinical pathology data and generate GLP and nonGLP reports.
• Work collaboratively with Study Directors, Anatomic Pathologists, and other pertinent personnel.
• Assist Study Directors in managing clinical pathology-related data and issues with sponsors.
• Foster client development through discussions with sponsors regarding study objectives and designs.
• Execute or support company-wide scientific initiatives involving the Clinical Pathology department.
• Aid in the ongoing development of Study Directors and other Safety Assessment staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• D.V.M. (or equivalent as recognized by AVMA ECFVG) is required.
• A minimum of 1-4 years of experience as a Veterinary Clinical Pathologist (as a board eligible trainee or board certified), preferably with experience in pharma, biotech, or CRO environments.
• DVM, Diplomate ACVP, JCVP, or ECVP in Veterinary Clinical Pathology.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office and pathology data management systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Capability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
• Ability to address common inquiries or complaints from clients or regulatory bodies.
• Skill in effectively presenting information to clients, management, and public groups.
• Competence in applying appropriate mathematical concepts for interpreting scientific studies.
• Continuing education in toxicology and pathology may be included in training requirements.
• Ongoing GLP training is expected.
• General reading, writing, and verbal communication skills are necessary.
• Proficiency in scientific writing or electronic publishing is preferred.
• Preferred qualifications include expertise in clinical pathology, familiarity with current scientific and industry literature, the ability to operate independently with minimal guidance, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
