Vendor Manager – Telecom Expense Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Act as the main contact for vendor inquiries, invoice resubmissions, tax and banking updates, and corporate restructuring matters.

• Proactively oversee supplier relationships concerning invoicing and payment processes.

• Prevent critical past-due notifications or service disconnections by obtaining written commitments to avert service interruptions.

• Resolve complex billing issues and initiate cost-saving claims when billed amounts differ from contractual agreements.

• Examine billing discrepancies, such as rate mismatches, unauthorized back-billing, charges for terminated services, and invalid future billings.

• Collaborate with suppliers to guarantee continuous service while disputes are being resolved.

• Supervise the purchase-order funding lifecycle to ensure prompt invoice payments.

• Track low-fund situations, assess foreign exchange effects, consolidate purchase orders, and facilitate PO transfers or replacements.

• Keep accurate system records and maintain data integrity across Telecom Expense Management Systems, SAP ERPs, procurement tools, and internal databases.

• Work with cross-functional teams to maintain high data quality throughout the process.

• Collaborate with negotiators, project managers, contracts, and corporate finance to enforce commercial terms as per the contract.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

• Over 8 years of experience in telecom expense management, vendor management, accounts payable, procurement operations, or commercial supply chain roles.

• High level of technical proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and modern collaboration tools.

• Quick to adapt to new software and digital workflows.

• Hands-on experience with Telecom Expense Management Systems (TEMS), such as Rivermine.

• Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP Fiori, Ariba, or Buying Hub.

• Experience with enterprise ticketing platforms, such as Remedy or ServiceNow.

• Capability to interpret complex commercial contracts.

• Proficient in analyzing line-item invoices.

• Ability to calculate foreign exchange variances and conduct usage analyses.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.

• Experience in managing supplier relationships and addressing high-priority operational escalations.

• Self-driven, with strong project ownership from initiation to completion.

• Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.

• Keen attention to detail, strong sense of urgency, and a consistent record of meeting deadlines.

• Preferred: experience in telecommunications, colocation data center operations, subsea cable infrastructure, or network connectivity solutions.

• Preferred: proven track record of managing high-value supplier disputes and achieving measurable cost savings.

• Preferred: understanding of global tax concepts, including VAT, withholding tax, and regional e-invoicing compliance requirements.

• Preferred: experience fostering cross-functional alignment among technical delivery, legal, sourcing, and corporate finance teams.
