Vehicle Assembly & Service Technician – Tech Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

📋 Description

• Oversee Fleet Services operations within the designated program or site, managing service delivery from recovery to redeployment.

• Collaborate with Fleet Management to plan fleet maintenance and resources, ensuring the upkeep of long-term service calendars and coordinating recovery schedules, staffing, and equipment necessities.

• Create and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs) while standardizing effective field practices throughout the organization.

• Mentor and supervise technicians by providing technical guidance, training, mentorship, and oversight on quality.

• Oversee contractors and vendors to ensure that third-party work aligns with technical and safety standards.

• Offer remote technical leadership to field teams, addressing complex system failures and facilitating resolutions.

• Manage equipment procurement and inventory, approving mission-critical purchases within budgetary constraints and maintaining precise records.

• Review service records, work orders, and daily reports for thoroughness and accuracy, ensuring timely reporting of safety and quality incidents.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10–15+ years of experience in technical integration, field engineering, service execution, or project management involving complex deployed systems.

• Extensive background in leading technical field operations, managing service initiatives, and holding teams accountable for performance and safety.

• Profound technical expertise across Saildrone’s Explorer, Voyager, and Surveyor platforms, with the capacity to diagnose and troubleshoot system failures remotely.

• Expert-level skills in developing technical SOPs and managing work orders within Fleetio.

• Proven experience in managing equipment procurement, large-scale inventories, and international inventory controls.

• Strong operational judgment, capable of balancing execution speed, technical quality, budget limitations, and site safety.

• Demonstrated ability to identify systemic enhancements from field data and operational experiences while mentoring and developing technicians across various skill levels.

• Willingness to travel 50–75% and provide remote on-call support as needed.

• U.S. Person status and eligibility to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.

• Ability to travel to remote and challenging environments for site audits and to lead complex deployments.

• Competent in performing or overseeing physical operations in extreme weather and confined spaces.
