Staff Software Engineer, Java

📋 Description

• Shape essential architectural choices and supervise the execution of intricate technical solutions.

• Guarantee the long-term viability and scalability of software systems while managing technical debt, performance, and organizational requirements.

• Make significant technical choices with limited supervision.

• Assess trade-offs and establish the technical direction within the domain.

• Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and engineering teams on technical matters.

• Guide and enhance the skills of engineers throughout the organization.

• Set technical standards and best practices.

• Manage complex technical projects involving multiple teams.

• Recognize challenges, facilitate solutions, and integrate customer support and operational insights.

• Advocate for and execute quality assurance methodologies.

• Design and create high-availability software systems that support global operations.

• Perform additional duties as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of experience in Java software development, especially for product applications.

• More than 5 years of experience in designing and operating highly scalable systems.

• Demonstrated ability to tackle complex system design issues at scale.

• Proficient in API design and RESTful services, with experience in frameworks such as Spring (Spring Boot) or Jersey.

• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) design principles and practices.

• Skilled in relational database design and development.

• At least 2 years of experience with Kotlin is a plus.

• Experience with caching systems, particularly Redis, is a plus.

• Comprehensive knowledge of quality testing practices and a proven history of delivering high-quality software.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.

• Must reside in one of the specified U.S. states.
