VDC Coordinator – Virtual Design & Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide support for Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes during the entire project lifecycle.

• Assist in the development of models, clash detection, coordination efforts, and project documentation.

• Act as a liaison among design teams, project teams, and field operations.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, and field teams to achieve VDC and BIM goals.

• Create, update, and maintain precise 3D models in accordance with project specifications and company standards.

• Aid in model reviews, clash detection, issue tracking, and providing resolution support.

• Employ BIM and digital construction technologies to enhance project visualization, communication, and collaboration.

• Develop and maintain project-specific BIM documentation, workflows, and coordination output.

• Prepare and manage federated models and coordination files using Navisworks and other VDC platforms.

• Conduct quality control reviews of models.

• Troubleshoot Revit and Navisworks issues and escalate complex technical problems as needed.

• Support model-based construction coordination, constructability reviews, and field implementation efforts.

• Aid in BIM training and knowledge dissemination.

• Contribute to enhancing VDC processes, workflows, and project delivery initiatives.

• In lead roles: oversee VDC support across multiple projects and lead VDC teams.

• In lead roles: create, implement, and maintain BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).

• In lead roles: create and manage federated models as well as coordinate multidisciplinary content.

• In lead roles: conduct clash detection meetings and both internal and external coordination reviews.

• In lead roles: provide advanced technical support for Revit and Navisworks.

• In lead roles: supervise model maintenance, quality control, and adherence to BIM standards.

• In lead roles: create and customize Revit schedules and reporting tools.

• In lead roles: train, mentor, and develop junior VDC personnel.

• In lead roles: assist with field layout and constructability assessments.

• In lead roles: document meeting minutes, track coordination issues, and manage BIM-related RFIs and action items.

• In lead roles: oversee VDC project scope, timelines, and budgets.

• In lead roles: manage multiple intricate projects or large project portfolios.

• In lead roles: enhance VDC technologies, workflows, standards, and overall strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in VDC, BIM coordination, design technology, construction, engineering, or a related area.

• A Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.

• Proficient in Revit, including the ability to create and modify models, views, sheets, families, and project documentation.

• Familiarity with Navisworks for model review, coordination, and clash detection tasks.

• Understanding of BIM workflows and multidisciplinary coordination processes.

• Capability to identify and resolve basic modeling and coordination challenges.

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.

• Skill in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a dynamic project environment.

• Eagerness to learn new technologies, software platforms, and VDC best practices.

• For lead-level candidates: 4+ years of experience required.

• For lead-level candidates: advanced proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other relevant VDC/BIM software.

• For lead-level candidates: demonstrated experience with BIM coordination, model integration, clash detection, and multidisciplinary coordination workflows.

• For lead-level candidates: ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex Revit and Navisworks issues.

• For lead-level candidates: experience in creating and customizing Revit schedules.

• For lead-level candidates: experience in training, mentoring, and supporting junior staff.

• For lead-level candidates: comprehensive understanding of construction methods, MEP systems, and BIM/VDC processes throughout the project lifecycle.

• For lead-level candidates: familiarity with relevant construction codes, standards, and regulations.

• For lead-level candidates: ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
