VA Associate Advocate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +11 more states.

📋 Description

• Support the Senior Advocate/Team Leader in guiding the strategic vision of the advocate department.

• Collaborate with the department head to establish a robust leadership team.

• Offer technical legal assistance to the Senior Advocate.

• Acquire knowledge of pertinent statutes, regulations, and case law.

• Review and categorize records, files, and c-files.

• Aid in identifying legal issues and perform legal research.

• Draft legal arguments, briefs, and correspondence for the Regional Office, Board, and CAVC levels.

• Provide leadership and assistance for Intake operations.

• Supervise a team of customer service professionals.

• Offer technical guidance to direct reports and other staff members.

• Contribute insights and recommendations to leadership regarding organizational goals.

• Evaluate decisions and guide Case Managers on further development steps.

• Handle a reduced caseload with duties akin to a senior associate.

• Prepare clients for Compensation & Pension Examinations.

• Collect lay witness statements.

• Edit blogs for the company website.

• Execute other related tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree or currently accredited VA claims agent.

• Preferred 1–2 years of relevant work experience.

• Advanced professional discipline requiring a post-collegiate degree or equivalent accredited-agent qualification.

• High-level proficiency in applying extensive knowledge, experience, and leadership skills.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and computer skills.

• Access to a desk, chair, and essential work-from-home equipment.

• A quiet workspace free from noise or distractions.

• Personal high-speed internet service; Wi-Fi is not permissible.

• Minimum internet speed requirement of 100 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload.

• Must reside in the United States and be located in or willing to relocate to FL, GA, IL, IN, MA, NC, NJ, NV, NY, PA, SC, TX, or WV.
