This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +3 more states.
• Create interfaces and workflows for classified defense operations.
• Perform user research with warfighters and mission operators to confirm design choices.
• Convert intricate mission requirements into straightforward, navigable product experiences.
• Operate within security limitations and government certification protocols while ensuring usability.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to produce designs that function reliably in contested settings.
• Lead prompt-to-prototype processes using Claude Design and Claude Code.
• Convert user needs and technical specifications into functional prototypes and high-fidelity interfaces.
• Partner with engineering teams to construct, test, and fine-tune interactive prototypes and production features utilizing AI tools.
• Oversee the complete user experience for deployment, configuration, and accreditation processes.
• Interpret compliance and technical requirements into intuitive, accessible user pathways.
• Conduct interviews, usability tests, and surveys with commercial software vendors.
• Maintain and enhance the design system to ensure visual quality, accessibility, and consistency in interactions.
• Advocate for user-centered design throughout the product lifecycle, balancing user needs with technical feasibility and speed.
• Represent the voice of operator needs in product decision-making.
• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Product Designer, UX Designer, or UI Designer for intricate web applications or SaaS products.
• Established proficiency with Claude Design, Claude Code, and Figma for prompt-to-prototype workflows and design systems.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with AI-assisted engineering teams in dynamic, fast-paced agile environments.
• Strong portfolio showcasing the design process, problem-solving skills, and real-world examples of simplifying complex technical workflows into user-friendly applications.
• Experience implementing user research methodologies and converting feedback into actionable design modifications.
• Solid foundation in information architecture, interaction design, visual hierarchy, and principles of user-centered design.
• Familiarity with government compliance frameworks such as ATO, FedRAMP, or NIST 800-53 and accreditation processes.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to government contract regulations.
• Candidates must live in one of the designated hiring hubs: DC/Maryland/Virginia; Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, NC; Denver/Colorado Springs, CO; Dallas/Fort Worth, TX.
