
Utility Sales Director – Wind Commercial Sales

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the complete commercial strategy, account plans, pipeline, forecast, and yearly orders and cash commitments for the designated portfolio.
• Establish trusted relationships with senior and executive leaders within customer organizations.
• Leverage knowledge of the utility industry to influence customer strategies and customize commercial solutions.
• Recognize and cultivate opportunities for account expansion.
• Lead cross-functional deal teams to structure, negotiate, and finalize significant, complex contracts, including transactions valued at $100 million or more.
• Create account-specific pricing, positioning, and deal frameworks.
• Supervise studies, estimates, formal proposals, and requests for re-profiling or renegotiating agreements.
• Drive the attainment of commercial commitments related to orders, margins, and cash flow.
• Keep abreast of regulatory changes, procurement trends, and competitor activities.
• Convert market insights into recommendations for pricing, product development, and planning.
• Collaborate with global sales counterparts and adjacent GE Vernova businesses to enhance cross-business opportunities.
• Mentor and develop Sales Managers and other commercial staff as needed.
• Oversee performance, support talent development, and allocate the team across accounts and priorities when necessary.
• A Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, finance, economics, analytics, or a related discipline.
• Over 8 years of progressive sales experience.
• Proven track record of successfully closing large, complex, multi-year transactions, including deals of $100 million or more.
• Willingness to travel 50% based on business requirements.
• Experience within the utility, independent power producer (IPP), developer, or regulated energy sectors.
• In-depth knowledge of utility industry regulatory frameworks, rate cases, integrated resource planning, procurement processes, project economics, and financing.
• Familiarity with consultative, insight-driven selling techniques.
• A well-established network and reputation within the North American utility, IPP, developer, or similar energy sectors.
• Strong understanding of wind or similar markets for large, capital-intensive equipment.
• Excellent, fact-based negotiation skills.
• Capability to lead cross-functional deal teams, build internal consensus, and nurture commercial talent.
• Experience in pipeline and forecast management using Salesforce or a comparable CRM platform.
• Strong executive presence and business acumen.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
