This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Analyze extensive datasets from utility GIS, enterprise asset management, work management, inspection, maintenance, and operational databases.
• Create SQL queries, scripts, and repeatable workflows to extract, join, transform, validate, and reconcile data.
• Identify data quality issues, including missing records, duplicate assets, inconsistent attributes, invalid relationships, and discrepancies across systems.
• Validate and reconcile utility asset records across GIS, SAP, inspection systems, and document repositories.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and performance metrics utilizing Microsoft Power BI or other similar business intelligence tools.
• Build and sustain analytical workflows within Palantir Foundry or comparable cloud-based data integration and analytics platforms.
• Convert business, operational, engineering, and regulatory requirements into data specifications and analytical procedures.
• Automate recurring data processing, quality control, and reporting tasks.
• Document data sources, business rules, assumptions, calculations, validation procedures, and analytical findings.
• Produce summaries detailing data issues, root causes, trends, risks, and suggested corrective actions.
• Collaborate with utility personnel and project teams to address data inquiries and enhance asset information reliability.
• Assist with project tracking, quality assurance, client reporting, and preparation of deliverables.
• Manage utility and client information in compliance with confidentiality, cybersecurity, and data governance standards.
• Operate within multidisciplinary project teams supporting utility clients.
• Engage in remote collaboration, client meetings, structured data reviews, and occasional travel based on project needs.
• Investigate discrepancies in incomplete or inconsistent source data and formulate defensible conclusions.
• Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, computer science, information systems, engineering, geography, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
• Experience in analyzing complex datasets using SQL and understanding relational database concepts.
• Proficient knowledge of data structures, joins, keys, relationships, normalization, and data quality controls.
• Proven experience creating reports, dashboards, or analytical products with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or a comparable platform.
• Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into structured analytical approaches.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attentiveness to data accuracy, completeness, and traceability.
• Capable of clearly communicating technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience in preparing process documentation, data dictionaries, validation rules, or technical instructions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, data validation, and large dataset analysis.
• Competence in managing multiple tasks and effectively working in a deadline-driven consulting environment.
• Preferred experience with electric, gas, or water utility data.
• Familiarity with utility assets and infrastructure is preferred.
• Experience in reconciling information between GIS, SAP, enterprise asset management, inspection, maintenance, or work management systems is preferred.
• Preferred experience using Palantir Foundry.
• Familiarity with Esri ArcGIS, spatial data, geodatabases, or GIS-based asset analysis is preferred.
• Experience with Python, R, Power Query, DAX, or other data processing and automation tools is preferred.
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, data lineage, master data management, or utility asset registries is preferred.
• Experience supporting regulatory, compliance, audit, asset validation, or infrastructure modernization initiatives is preferred.
• Familiarity with electric utility distribution or transmission operations is preferred.
• Consulting experience or direct work with utility stakeholders is preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
