User Tester

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage with Connect, the student data application being developed by InterVarsity in collaboration with Gloo.

• Navigate the app as Campus Staff Ministers, student leaders, and Area Directors would utilize it.

• Familiarize yourself with the features of Connect and the workflows it supports in the field.

• Partner with the User Adoption Specialist and the project team to create role-specific test scripts.

• Establish test accounts along with sample student records.

• Conduct scripted and exploratory tests on both mobile and desktop platforms prior to pilot phases and releases.

• Perform retesting after Gloo updates to ensure that fixes remain effective.

• Validate that student data is saved and synchronized accurately, particularly through the Salesforce integration.

• Confirm that each role has access only to the appropriate student data.

• Identify any confusing or inefficient steps in the user experience.

• Document issues with detailed reproduction steps, screenshots, device specifics, and severity ratings.

• Retest solutions and keep the issue log updated.

• Escalate any issues that block pilots or expose student data on the same day they are identified.

• Provide weekly updates on open and resolved issues, as well as patterns for improvement.

• Manage sensitive data with care, ensuring confidentiality.

• Adhere to posted working hours while telecommuting as permitted by the supervisor.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent experience will be considered.

• At least 1 year of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or technical support is preferred, but we are open to training the ideal candidate.

• Proficient in using mobile applications on iOS and Android, as well as web applications across major browsers.

• Strong attention to detail, with the capability to write bug reports that others can follow without needing further clarification.

• Familiarity with campus ministry, particularly as an InterVarsity chapter student leader, is strongly preferred.

• Experience with Salesforce or issue tracking tools such as Jira is advantageous.

• Proven ability to handle sensitive personal data with discretion.

• Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.

• A robust critical thinker with a knack for problem-solving.

• Access to a smartphone and computer is required.
