This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Develop and enhance photorealistic digital twin environments utilizing Unreal Engine 5.
• Execute real-time simulation and visualization for industrial systems, robotic fleets, and logistics operations.
• Link Unreal Engine visualizations to real-time telemetry, sensor inputs, and machine learning outputs from SAS analytics pipelines.
• Create and refine Blueprints and C++ modules for simulation logic, physical system behavior, and user interaction.
• Implement dynamic asset loading and manage level streaming.
• Integrate and expand Unreal Engine plugins, including the SAS Connector and third-party plugins.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve performance and stability issues using Unreal Insights and engine profiling tools.
• Document performance and stability insights for the team.
• Adhere to and enhance pipeline management and version-control standards using Perforce and Plastic SCM.
• Engage in open-source projects on behalf of SAS.
• Comply with relevant security policies and processes that support secure software development objectives.
• Collaborate with IoT engineers, optimization specialists, software architects, engineers, artists, and analysts.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in developing interactive 3D applications using Unreal Engine.
• Proficient in both Blueprints and C++.
• Experience in taking a minimum of one real-time 3D or simulation project from prototype to release.
• Practical knowledge of integrating external data into real-time applications via JSON, REST, WebSocket, or MQTT.
• Background in a team-based content pipeline under version control, utilizing Perforce, Plastic SCM, or Git.
• An equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience may be accepted in place of the listed qualifications.
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine server/client architecture and network replication.
• Exposure to digital twin, industrial simulation, or enterprise visualization projects.
• Understanding of analytics or streaming data concepts, or a desire to learn about SAS products such as CI360, Intelligent Decisioning, or Event Stream Processing.
• Experience in the gaming industry, or a portfolio showcasing shipped titles or interactive experiences.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must not require current or future sponsorship for employment visa status.
