This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Spearhead the design and development of photorealistic digital twin environments utilizing Unreal Engine 5
• Integrate real-time simulations and visualizations of industrial systems, robotic fleets, and logistics operations
• Collaborate with optimization specialists, IoT engineers, and software architects to create immersive, data-driven experiences
• Connect Unreal Engine visualizations with real-time telemetry, sensor inputs, and machine learning outputs derived from SAS analytics pipelines
• Develop and enhance custom Blueprints and C++ modules for simulation logic, physical system behavior, and user interactions
• Implement dynamic asset loading, level streaming, and runtime procedural generation for scalable digital twin scenarios
• Assess, integrate, and extend Unreal Engine plugins, such as SAS Connector and third-party plugins
• Promote best practices in Unreal Engine pipeline management, Perforce, Plastic SCM, cloud services, REST APIs, and digital twin orchestration layers
• Mentor junior developers
• Contribute to the long-term technical strategy for digital twin innovation across the organization
• Engage in open-source projects on behalf of SAS
• Adhere to applicable security policies and processes that support secure software development objectives
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
• At least 8 years of professional experience in developing interactive 3D applications using Unreal Engine
• Expert-level proficiency in both Blueprints and C++
• Experience in production environments with Unreal Engine server/client architecture and network replication
• Familiarity with integrating external data sources or APIs, including JSON, REST, WebSocket, or MQTT, into real-time applications
• A portfolio showcasing shipped real-time 3D or simulation projects that illustrate photorealistic rendering, physics simulation, or intricate user interaction design
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must not require current or future sponsorship for employment visa status
• Previous experience at a AAA game studio or direct involvement with digital twin products
• Experience in leading a team of five or more application developers
• Working knowledge of analytical, statistical, and optimization tools, particularly for ingesting and processing game event data
• Familiarity with at least one key SAS product: CI360, Intelligent Decisioning, or Event Stream Processing
• Advanced degree preferred
