This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Educate, engage, and motivate the public to support and take part in NMDP’s mission.

• Develop and maintain relationships with colleges, universities, technical and vocational institutions, community organizations, corporations, and service sectors.

• Encourage dedicated individuals to enroll in the NMDP registry.

• Enhance the diversity of the national registry by engaging and educating ethnically diverse communities.

• Plan and coordinate activities focused on registry awareness, education, and commitment.

• Collaborate with marketing, volunteer services, the NMDP Foundation, account managers, network partners, and various internal and external stakeholders.

• Keep up-to-date knowledge of HLA and blood stem cell transplantation.

• Work with a regional team to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual registry enrollment targets.

• Establish, cultivate, and maintain relationships with community leaders, organizations, media, businesses, and local contacts.

• Respond to leads and referrals with support from internal partners.

• Convey the NMDP mission through public speaking and written communications.

• Identify and propose innovative practices for community engagement and registry recruitment.

• Develop annual engagement and recruitment strategy plans.

• Organize and deliver live and digital events focused on the mission.

• Mobilize volunteers and sponsors to achieve event objectives.

• Inform prospective volunteer donors about the NMDP mission, donation process, and expectations for registry members.

• Address donor inquiries, issues, and concerns.

• Implement training and guidelines for community engagement, education, and donor recruitment.

• Create annual activity plans for targeted college campuses and report progress to leadership.

• Collaborate with Transplant Centers to identify patients and families interested in supporting NMDP.

• Assist patient families by assessing their needs and referring them to relevant NMDP services.

• Identify stories related to patients and donors, collaborating with marketing and media.

• Participate in media events and represent NMDP during media interviews.

• Support objectives related to donor recruitment, availability, and experience.

• Advocate for and promote financial support for the NMDP Foundation.

• Recruit, retain, interview, screen, train, place, and supervise volunteers.

• Monitor volunteer data and hours.

• Facilitate volunteer recognition and appreciation initiatives.


⛳️ Requirements

• Understanding of sales and marketing principles.

• Familiarity with volunteer management practices.

• Experience in formulating in-market strategies and generating leads.

• Proficiency in planning and executing events.

• Ability to navigate college and university systems, including athletics, diverse affinity groups, student government, and Greek organizations.

• Capacity to network and develop community partnerships within ethnically diverse communities.

• Competence in effectively utilizing social media.

• Capability to leverage digital marketing for recruitment efforts.

• Skill in interacting with and influencing others.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• Strong public speaking and presentation abilities.

• Effective organizational and time management skills for managing multiple projects.

• Self-motivated and driven by goals.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Salesforce, and Internet usage.

• Eagerness to learn and willingness to travel within the region as needed (25%-50%).

• Availability to work evenings and weekends.

• Occasional national travel required, approximately 3-4 trips per year.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Minimum of two years of experience in sales, business or community development, client account management, event planning, and implementation with defined goals.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Reliable transportation with sufficient capacity for event materials.

• Bilingual language skills may be required depending on the location.
