Underwriting Technician, Inland Marine

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Accurately and promptly process new and renewal insurance applications.

• Conduct routine selection, evaluation, and pricing for less complex risks.

• Engage with agencies regarding standard matters.

• Request underwriting and state-required documentation.

• Input insurance application data while ensuring compliance with state regulations.

• Issue and compile policies following underwriter approval.

• Handle cancellations, declinations, and policy reissues as needed.

• Review underwriting criteria and suggest acceptance or denial based on established procedures when requested.

• Support or mentor fellow Underwriting Technicians.

• Participate in special projects.

• Maintain updates in the underwriting system.

• Report to a Supervisor or Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required.

• Some college education is preferred.

• Generally, a minimum of three years of relevant work experience in an office setting is expected.

• Familiarity with policy processing procedures and related documentation.

• Understanding of applicable insurance products.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Proven ability to operate at high levels of productivity and quality.

• Capability to work independently on multiple assignments.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
