Underwriting Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Report directly to the Team Lead in Underwriting.

• Assist Mortgage Underwriters by managing file follow-ups and ensuring all conditions are satisfied prior to closing.

• Follow up on commitments and request necessary documentation.

• Verify the precision of mortgage document specifications.

• Ensure that all conditions for mortgage approval are fulfilled.

• Direct risk-related matters to the Underwriter for assessment.

• Evaluate land titles, purchase agreements, and appraisal reports for discrepancies.

• Confirm closing details, such as dates, client information, and payment schedules.

• Collaborate with both internal staff and external customers at Bridgewater Bank and AMA to meet departmental and organizational objectives.

• Conduct Quality Assurance audits on assigned files.

• One to two years of experience in a lending institution.

• Proficient in computer applications with a proven ability to adapt to new systems.
