Underwriting Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Report to the Team Lead in the Underwriting department.

• Assist Mortgage Underwriters by managing file follow-ups and ensuring all conditions are fulfilled prior to closing.

• Follow up on commitments and request specific documentation as needed.

• Verify the accuracy of mortgage document specifications.

• Ensure compliance with all mortgage approval conditions.

• Direct risk-related issues to the Underwriter for assessment.

• Evaluate land titles, purchase agreements, and appraisal reports for discrepancies.

• Confirm closing information, including dates, client details, and payment schedules.

• Collaborate with both internal and external customers of Bridgewater Bank and AMA.

• Conduct Quality Assurance audits on assigned files.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma required.

• One to two years of experience in a lending institution.

• Proven ability to adapt to new computer systems.

• Effective communication skills and attentive listening abilities.

• Strong customer service focus.

• Keen attention to detail and precision.

• Capability to manage time, multiple files, and prioritize tasks effectively.

• High level of integrity and sound judgment.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Position based in Calgary.
