Underwriting Assistant – GL Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide support for General Liability/Casualty E&S underwriting lines and their associated coverages.

• Oversee the submission process, which includes assessing submissions for completeness and facilitating account clearance and setup.

• Implement submission triage through fundamental underwriting data analysis.

• Evaluate submission details against underwriting appetite and guidelines to assist in determining eligibility and prioritizing opportunities.

• Gather necessary information from brokers.

• Organize and maintain documentation files.

• Coordinate transactions with other underwriting support resources.

• Engage with underwriters and wholesale trading partners via phone, virtually, or in person to facilitate transactions independently or with minimal guidance.

• Contribute to the development of a profitable E&S business portfolio across a range of expanding lines and coverages.

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience in E&S underwriting support within the General Liability/Casualty lines and coverages.

• Proficiency in managing the submission process, including reviewing submissions for completeness to handle or facilitate account clearance and setup.

• Knowledge of basic underwriting data analysis to execute submission triage tasks, including evaluating submission details in relation to underwriting appetite and guidelines to support underwriting personnel with eligibility determination and opportunity prioritization.

• Capability to collect necessary information from brokers, organize and maintain documentation, and coordinate transactions with other underwriting support resources.

• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.

• Understanding of company appetites and delegated underwriting authorities.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization; sponsorship is not available.
