Underground Engineer

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Lead the technical engineering efforts for multi-disciplinary underground electrical transmission and distribution projects.

β€’ Oversee engineering design timelines, budget management, and the delivery of high-caliber solutions.

β€’ Implement and uphold Underground Electric Design, Construction, and client-specific standards.

β€’ Supervise data gathering and system modeling for underground infrastructure engineering.

β€’ Make decisions on project execution regarding technical adherence and contractual obligations.

β€’ Design underground systems in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.

β€’ Direct the development of comprehensive AutoCAD and MicroStation engineering drawing packages.

β€’ Collaborate with designers, engineers, and external consultants on multi-disciplinary design initiatives.

β€’ Analyze regional requirements to tailor system designs accordingly.

β€’ Facilitate the permitting process through local, county, state, and federal authorities.

β€’ Review Requests for Information (RFIs), contractor submissions, and shop drawings to support construction processes.

β€’ Estimate project expenses and create technical content for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and sales proposals.

β€’ Work alongside Business Development to secure utility engineering contracts.

β€’ Ensure compliance with corporate quality management programs and deliverables.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.

β€’ A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.

β€’ A minimum of 4 years of direct experience in electric utility distribution engineering.

β€’ Demonstrated success in designing overhead and/or underground electric systems.

β€’ Extensive knowledge of utility design standards, industry safety regulations such as NESC, and compliance frameworks.

β€’ Expertise in AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS platforms, and Distribution Design Studio (DDS).

β€’ EIT Certification is required.

β€’ Professional Engineer (PE) designation is preferred.
