This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collaborate with design, art, engineering, and production teams to adapt UI and UX systems for various platforms.
• Create user flows, wireframes, mockups, and interface layouts tailored for new input methods and platform-specific interactions.
• Enhance navigation, readability, accessibility, and overall usability.
• Recognize UX challenges arising from platform transitions and devise player-centric solutions.
• Ensure consistency with the game's visual style, information hierarchy, and interaction patterns.
• Engage in design reviews, playtests, and usability assessments, integrating player feedback effectively.
• Advocate for usability, accessibility, and player-centered design throughout the development process.
• Adapt a well-established simulation game to new platforms while maintaining its depth and functionality.
• Craft intuitive, readable, engaging, and platform-native player experiences.
• Enhance existing interfaces and develop new interaction patterns.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional UI/UX design experience within the game development industry.
• Proven experience in designing interfaces for complex gameplay systems or feature-rich applications.
• Deep understanding of UX principles, information hierarchy, accessibility, interaction design, and usability best practices.
• Proficient in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Animate, or similar software.
• Experience in designing controller-first interfaces and platform-specific user experiences.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a background in working across design, art, engineering, and quality assurance teams.
• Ability to effectively communicate design intentions through mockups, documentation, and presentations.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada and currently reside within Canada.
• Plus: Experience with game ports, remasters, or cross-platform development.
• Plus: Background in designing UI for simulation, strategy, management, or other systems-heavy games.
• Plus: Experience in visual design, typography, iconography, or information visualization.
• Plus: Familiarity with usability testing and accessibility practices.
• Plus: Understanding of console, PC, and cross-platform user experience.
• Plus: Passion for crafting elegant, intuitive interfaces for complex gameplay systems.
