This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Plan, implement, and oversee the mechanical and functional commissioning of hydraulic turbines along with their auxiliary systems.
• Conduct functional tests throughout the assembly, pre-commissioning, initial spin, and operational phases.
• Commission essential systems such as speed governors, distributors, servomotors, bearings, and shaft sealing systems.
• Validate systems involving pressurized oil, lubrication, cooling, drainage, and mechanical/hydraulic instrumentation.
• Monitor critical parameters during testing, which includes vibration, bearing temperature, shaft displacement, and operating pressures.
• Take part in performance tests, covering load rejection, overspeed, and hydraulic transient analysis.
• Detect mechanical or hydraulic failures, produce technical reports, and suggest engineering solutions for any nonconformities.
• Ensure that all field activities adhere strictly to technical, contractual, and safety standards.
• A technical or university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electromechanics, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in the commissioning of hydraulic turbines in hydropower facilities.
• In-depth knowledge of turbine technologies, including Francis, Kaplan, Pelton, or comparable turbines.
• Skilled in reading and interpreting P&IDs, hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical schematics.
• Intermediate proficiency in English.
• Full availability for travel and extended assignments or relocation within Latin American countries.
• Basic Spanish language skills are advantageous.
