This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland, +1 more country.
• Evaluate claim eligibility and determine outcomes by reviewing veterinary medical records, clinical notes, invoices, and policy information.
• Consistently and accurately apply policy language, claims guidelines, and established processes.
• Perform secondary claim reviews as part of the appeals process, clearly communicating claim rationale in a professional manner.
• Investigate complex claim scenarios by gathering, validating, and interpreting relevant medical and policy information.
• Proactively obtain required documentation from veterinary clinics, specialists, or pet owners by identifying missing or incomplete information.
• Engage with veterinary professionals, pet owners, and internal teams via phone and email regarding claim decisions, status updates, and policy inquiries.
• Ensure an efficient, empathetic, and positive experience for pet owners and veterinary partners during sensitive situations.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation across multiple internal systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide suggestions and feedback that enhance claims processes, workflows, and customer experience.
• Work a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, with flexible hours from 07:00 to 19:00 and availability on Saturdays.
• Required: Professional working proficiency in English.
• Required: Professional fluency in German.
• Required: Professional fluency in French.
• At least 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role within veterinary, animal health, pet insurance, or a related environment.
• Strong understanding of veterinary medical terminology, as well as common conditions, treatments, and diagnostic procedures.
• Highly preferred: Experience working directly with clients or pet owners in a veterinary clinic, hospital, or animal health setting.
• Asset: Experience reviewing medical records, supporting patient care, claims adjudication, or insurance operations.
• Proven ability to learn and navigate multiple systems, processes, and technologies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other business software.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
• Capable of assessing complex information, identifying key details, and making sound decisions.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer focus, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in challenging situations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently across various systems.
• Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic, evolving environment.
