This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +1 more country.
• Assess veterinary medical records, clinical notes, invoices, and policy information to determine claim eligibility and outcomes.
• Consistently and accurately apply policy language, claims guidelines, and established processes.
• Perform secondary claim reviews during the appeals process and clearly communicate the rationale behind claims decisions in a professional manner.
• Investigate intricate claim scenarios by collecting, validating, and interpreting relevant medical and policy data.
• Identify and address any missing or incomplete information by proactively acquiring necessary documentation from veterinary clinics, specialists, or pet owners.
• Engage with veterinary professionals, pet owners, and internal teams via phone and email to discuss claim decisions, provide status updates, and answer policy inquiries.
• Ensure a smooth, empathetic, and positive experience for both pet owners and veterinary partners.
• Keep precise records and documentation in various internal systems.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to promote operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide insights and feedback to enhance claims processes, workflows, and customer experiences.
• Serve as a reliable resource for pet owners, veterinary teams, and internal stakeholders regarding complex claim scenarios.
• Required: Professional working proficiency in English.
• Required: Professional fluency in German.
• Required: Professional fluency in French.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role within veterinary, animal health, pet insurance, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, common conditions, treatments, and diagnostic procedures.
• Preferred: Experience working directly with clients or pet owners in a veterinary clinic, hospital, or animal health environment.
• Experience in reviewing medical records, supporting patient care, claims adjudication, or insurance operations is advantageous.
• Proven ability to learn and navigate various systems, processes, and technologies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other business software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, ensuring a high level of accuracy and consistency.
• Capability to evaluate complex information, pinpoint key details, and make informed decisions.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong customer focus, exhibiting empathy and professionalism in challenging circumstances.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently across diverse systems.
• Demonstrated adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
