Treasury Operations and Reconciliations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily settlement and reconciliation activities for SEPA, instant payments, cards, and international transfers.

• Fund payment channels and ensure operational buffers are maintained continuously.

• Assist in the safe launch of new payment schemes and settlement models.

• Reconcile accounts with banks, card schemes, payment processors, and custodians.

• Uphold client-money safeguarding and ensure accurate regulatory and scheme reporting.

• Design fund flows for new products, markets, and partners, which includes accounts, postings, safeguarding measures, reconciliation, and failure management.

• Serve as the escalation point for payment-related incidents and establish cross-team resolution processes.

• Document operations, eliminate single points of failure, and collaborate with engineering teams to automate manual tasks.

• Work alongside product and engineering teams on money flows prior to the launch of new products.

• Independently manage treasury operations, separating them from policy, capital, investment decisions, and trade execution overseen by the Head of Treasury.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in treasury operations, payment operations, or reconciliation within an e-money institution, payment institution, or bank.

• Practical knowledge of payment systems including SEPA, SWIFT, and card schemes.

• Experience in designing or restructuring money flows for new products or payment systems, covering accounts, postings, safeguarding measures, and reconciliation.

• Background in transforming manual, person-dependent tasks into documented, automated processes in collaboration with engineers.

• Experience managing money-impacting payment incidents from initial alert through to resolution.

• Familiarity with segregation of duties and preparedness for audits.

• Capability to simplify complex money flows for easy understanding.

• Proficiency in English.

• STEM education is a plus.
