Traveling Services Operations Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Provide support to various facilities and/or clients within a specific geographic area.

• Execute roles as Coordinator, Technician, Material Handler, and Glass Washer during staff vacations, absences, or emergencies.

• Serve as a backup for other regions and be prepared to travel outside the assigned territory as necessary.

• Organize and direct team activities in relation to client needs.

• Collaborate with management on the development of Standard Operating Procedures, Scopes of Work, Standard Work, On-The-Job Training, and other initiatives.

• Engage directly with client points of contact, purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers.

• Acquire laboratory supplies and materials.

• Utilize Avantor and client systems, including SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager, and specific customer applications.

• Educate Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on service offerings.

• Provide SAP assistance, encompassing customer service, credit rebills, and invoice review.

• Adjust and uphold quality metrics and key performance indicators.

• Oversee a budget pertaining to expense reports.

• Achieve revenue, TOE, safety, performance, and quality targets and objectives.

• Develop programs aimed at enhancing service efficiencies.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory control, procurement, shipping and receiving, inside sales, etc., is advantageous.

• Proficient in Microsoft Suite.

• Overnight travel is a requirement.

• Capability to use your own vehicle and ability to fly for longer trips.

• Must be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 where required by client locations.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Previous experience in a GMP facility is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with Information Access and System ESS.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Skill in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.

• Willingness to travel between various locations.

• Experience in cross-referencing and inside sales is a plus.

• A CDL is beneficial but not mandatory.

• Forklift Certification is an advantage.

• Previous experience with VWR/Avantor products and services is a plus.

• Knowledge of IATA, DOT, OSHA Right to Know, and IMDG regulations is advantageous.

• An Associate's degree or undergraduate degree in a business or science-related field is a plus.
