Traveling Services Operations Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Provide support to various facilities and/or clients within a defined geographic region.

• Execute the roles of Coordinators, Technicians, Material Handlers, and Glass Washers during periods of vacation, leave, or emergencies.

• Serve as a backup for other regions and be willing to travel beyond the assigned territory when necessary.

• Coordinate and guide team efforts while fulfilling customer requirements.

• Collaborate with management on Standard Operating Procedures, Scopes of Work, Standard Work, On-the-Job Training, and other related tasks.

• Engage directly with customer contacts, purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers.

• Acquire laboratory supplies and materials as needed.

• Use Avantor and customer-specific computer systems, including SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager, and other applications.

• Provide training to Avantor Lab and Production Services associates regarding service offerings.

• Offer SAP support, which includes customer services, credit rebills, and invoice scrubbing.

• Adjust and uphold quality metrics and key performance indicators.

• Oversee a budget associated with expense reports.

• Achieve revenue, TOE, safety, performance, and quality targets and goals.

• Develop programs aimed at enhancing service efficiencies.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory control, procurement, shipping and receiving, inside sales, or similar fields is advantageous.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is required.

• Willingness to travel overnight is necessary.

• Must be able to use personal vehicle and fly for longer trips.

• Full vaccination and booster against COVID-19 is required for sites where coverage is provided.

• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs is essential.

• Previous experience in a GMP facility is highly preferred.

• Excellent communication skills are a must.

• Familiarity with Information Access and System ESS is beneficial.

• A valid driver's license is necessary.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines is essential.

• Willingness to travel to multiple locations is required.

• A CDL is an advantage, but not mandatory.

• Experience in cross-referencing and inside sales is a plus.

• Forklift Certification is a plus.

• Prior experience with VWR/Avantor products and services is advantageous.

• Knowledge of IATA, DOT, OSHA Right to Know, and IMDG regulations is a plus.
