Traveling Construction Materials Testing Technician – Renewables, Remote Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct concrete and compaction testing on commercial construction sites.

• Generate daily reports detailing testing activities and observations.

• Accurately and completely document observations and test data.

• Share test results with project leads and site superintendents/foremen.

• Collaborate with project engineers and clients to ensure adherence to client specifications.

• Travel to wind and solar farms as well as other remote job sites.

• Execute routine inspections and testing of construction materials in the field to confirm compliance with construction plans, contract documents, and project specifications.

• Be available for overtime, weekend work, and outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.

• Must be willing to travel frequently and work at remote project locations across the US.

• Readiness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

• Previous experience in materials testing is preferred.

• Technical proficiency in electronic field data collection is required.

• Capability to interpret plans and specifications effectively.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Experience with iPads is advantageous.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.

• 1–3 years of experience in construction materials testing is preferred.

• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I certification is necessary.

• Pre-employment drug screening is required.

• A criminal background check is mandatory.

• A motor vehicle report will be required.
