Traveling Construction Materials Testing Technician – Renewables

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct concrete and compaction testing on commercial construction projects.

• Generate daily reports detailing testing procedures and activities performed.

• Accurately and thoroughly document observations and test results.

• Share test outcomes with project leads and site superintendents/foremen.

• Collaborate with project engineers and clients to ensure adherence to client specifications.

• Travel to remote locations such as wind farms and solar farms for project work.

• Execute regular field inspections and testing of construction materials to ensure compliance with construction plans, contract documents, and project specifications.

• Be available for overtime, weekend work, and outdoor assignments in diverse weather conditions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record is essential.

• Must be willing to travel frequently and work at remote project locations across the United States.

• Must have a readiness to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.

• Prior experience in materials testing is preferred.

• Strong technical skills in electronic field data collection are required.

• Capability to interpret construction plans and specifications effectively.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.

• Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Experience with iPads is an advantage.

• Ability to lift weights up to 50 pounds.

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.

• 1–3 years of experience in construction materials testing is preferred.

• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I certification is mandatory.

• A pre-employment drug screening, criminal background check, and motor vehicle report are required.
