Traveling Construction Materials Testing Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct concrete and compaction testing on commercial construction assignments.

• Generate daily reports detailing testing activities and observations.

• Accurately and thoroughly document observations and test data.

• Share test outcomes with project leaders and site superintendents/foremen.

• Collaborate with project engineers and clients to ensure adherence to client specifications.

• Travel to data centers, commercial warehouses, and other remote sites.

• Execute routine inspections and testing of construction materials in the field to confirm compliance with construction plans, contract documents, and project specifications.

⛳️ Requirements

• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.

• Capability to travel extensively and work at remote project locations across the US.

• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.

• Prior experience in materials testing is preferred.

• Technical proficiency in electronic field data collection.

• Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Experience with iPads is a plus.

• Capacity to lift 50 pounds.

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

• 1-3 years of experience in construction materials testing.

• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I certification is required.

• Completion of a pre-employment drug screening, criminal background check, and motor vehicle report is necessary.
