Travel Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Conduct inspections of railroad tracks at customer locations.

• Utilize measurement instruments, troubleshoot electronic systems, and operate computers.

• Analyze railroad documentation to extract train speed data.

• Review and interpret track measurement data for reporting purposes.

• Drive hi-rail commercial vehicles.

• Perform maintenance on rail survey cars and hi-rail vehicles.

• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards aboard government-owned survey vehicles.

• Frequently travel to and work on railroad track inspection vehicles.

• Represent ENSCO in a professional manner at customer locations.

• Follow a work schedule consisting of 3 weeks of continuous travel followed by 1 week off.

• Travel independently to job sites and coordinate vehicle rentals and hotel arrangements.

• Execute safety watch responsibilities in a railroad setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Successful completion of a Public Trust background check.

• Must have lived in the United States for at least 3 of the last 5 years.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical, electromechanical, or mechanical fields involving troubleshooting and problem-solving, or a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with 1 year of experience.

• Familiarity with workplace safety programs.

• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Experience interpreting electrical or electronic schematics and wiring diagrams.

• Background in conducting inspections and maintenance of equipment/machinery.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, including network file transfers, copying, and pasting.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficiency with tape measures and other measuring instruments.

• Fundamental understanding of mathematics and fractional measurements.

• Valid driver's license.

• Ability to travel independently for business, including arranging vehicle rentals and hotel stays.

• Capability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a distance of at least 150 feet.

• Ability to climb a 15-foot ladder.

• Able to work in confined spaces, inclement weather, and shifts of 12 hours or longer.

• Capacity to serve as a safety watchman in a railroad environment.

• Must pass a Federal pre-employment drug test.

• Must pass random drug and alcohol tests while on duty.

• Must clear an e-RAILSAFE security background check, including financial status.

• Must successfully complete online railroad safety examinations.

• Required to wear railroad safety gear.

• REAL ID-compliant identification or an acceptable alternative may be required for access to federal facilities.
