Trauma Registrar

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Oversee and uphold the database abstraction of clinical data originating from various sources.

• Abstract and input all necessary data elements into the Collector system as mandated by PTSF.

• Relay information to the Trauma Team concerning trauma audit filters or recognized care issues.

• Identify all trauma patients admitted to LVH and served by the trauma service.

• Mark trauma patients in the EPIC system.

• Assemble data in accordance with NTDS and NTRACS data requirement guidelines.

• Complete data abstracts from admission to discharge on designated charts.

• Gather patient records pre- and post-discharge for examination, analysis, and diagnosis entry into the trauma registry database.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED is essential.

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a healthcare-related role, or 1 year of abstracting clinical information into a database, or 1 year of billing or coding certification or degree, either in progress or completed.

• Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and pathophysiology.

• Proficient in using Windows computers and data entry.

• Proficient in EPIC.

• Preferred: Understanding of Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation (PTSF).

• Preferred: Experience with ICD-10 Coding.

• Preferred: Background in abstracting, billing, and/or coding.

• Capability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.

• Regularly required to sit/stand and use a keyboard.

• Patient care providers may need to kneel, bend, squat, and perform CPR.
