Transportation Project Manager – TIA Program

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee the execution of all Heart of Georgia Altamaha TIA 2 (2023–2032) transportation initiatives

• Facilitate weekly coordination meetings with GDOT, consultants, and project stakeholders

• Track project timelines, key milestones, budgets, and outputs

• Monitor GDOT-let design and construction projects to identify risks or schedule disruptions

• Liaise with local governments regarding locally let transportation initiatives

• Prepare resurfacing bid packages for GDOT-let projects

• Evaluate and authorize resurfacing bid packages submitted by local governments

• Review and approve invoices from consultants and local government entities

• Assist in program reporting, budget monitoring, and project documentation

• Act as the primary point of contact among GDOT, local governments, consultants, and stakeholders

• Enhance communication and resolve project-related issues

• Support the execution of transportation improvement projects across the region

• Manage moderately complex projects that involve multiple stakeholders, agencies, and regional collaboration

• Oversee design, construction, maintenance, and resurfacing operations

• Direct project delivery from inception to completion when necessary

• Provide guidance and coordination to technical staff, consultants, and project support teams

• Operate autonomously in daily project management while receiving technical guidance on intricate issues

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Transportation, or a related discipline, along with 4 years of experience in roadway construction, transportation project management, maintenance, or a related field; or a proven equivalent combination of education and experience

• A valid U.S. Driver’s License is mandatory

• Must successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records review as a condition of employment

• Experience in coordinating with government entities, consultants, contractors, and local stakeholders

• Strong organizational, communication, and project management abilities

• Preferred experience in GDOT roadway construction, maintenance, or transportation program management

• Preferred experience in managing transportation improvement or capital programs

• Preferred knowledge of GDOT project development and delivery processes

• Preferred experience with pavement condition assessment and pavement management systems

• Preferred experience in developing, reviewing, and administering resurfacing bid packages

• Preferred familiarity with transportation funding programs, including Transportation Investment Act (TIA) projects

• A Professional Engineer (PE) license or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous

• U.S. employment authorization is required; sponsorship is not available now or in the future
