Transportation Logistics Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Asia.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete transportation process of IT hardware — including rack systems, servers, GPUs, and various data center equipment — throughout the APAC region.

• Coordinate the scheduling of air freight and road transport, selection of carriers and freight forwarders, and execution of deliveries.

• Manage RMA and RMS shipments, vendor coordination, and reverse logistics processes.

• Facilitate equipment transfers between company warehouses and data center locations.

• Ensure shipment visibility and address any transit issues, delays, or exceptions.

• Formulate contingency plans and alternative routing strategies.

• Handle urgent air freight shipments, including booking and comprehensive tracking.

• Collaborate with APAC data center operations teams for staging, buffering, and just-in-time deployment.

• Keep in-transit inventory records and chain-of-custody documentation up to date.

• Manage shipment documentation within Jira, TMS, or similar systems.

• Oversee customs documentation, clearance, duties, taxes, declarations, and trade compliance.

• Process and reconcile logistics invoices and payments to transportation vendors.

• Implement secure shipment protocols for high-value hardware.

• Establish and uphold SLAs and KPIs with carriers, forwarders, and 3PL partners.

• Collaborate with hardware engineering, procurement, finance, security, and data center operations teams.

• Coordinate with Taiwan-based OEM suppliers regarding shipping timelines, batch tracking, customs documentation, and inbound scheduling.

• Serve as the primary point of escalation for regional transportation issues.

• Align regional operations with global transportation standards and reporting requirements.

• Foster continuous improvement through KPI tracking, root cause analysis, and process standardization.

• Anticipate APAC transportation demand and pinpoint cost optimization opportunities.

• Monitor and report regional logistics expenses while supporting dashboards and operational analytics.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation, freight, or logistics management, with significant emphasis on international shipping in the APAC region.

• Extensive, practical knowledge of APAC freight markets, air freight routes, and road transport operations, especially those involving Taiwan, Singapore, India, South Korea, Japan, and Malaysia.

• Demonstrated experience managing high-value, time-sensitive IT hardware shipments such as server racks, GPUs, and data center equipment.

• Strong comprehension of customs regulations, import/export practices, and trade compliance across various APAC jurisdictions.

• Proven ability to manage and negotiate with carriers, freight forwarders, and 3PL partners throughout the APAC region.

• Practical experience with RMA/RMS shipment procedures and reverse logistics flows.

• Familiarity with TMS platforms, Jira, or similar systems for shipment tracking and documentation.

• Exceptional organizational and documentation skills, demonstrating a high level of accuracy and thoroughness.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities; must be capable of working collaboratively across both technical and non-technical teams in a global context.

• Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision.

• Residing in the APAC region, with a preference for Singapore, India, or South Korea. Must be eligible to work in the country of residence.

• Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of additional Asian languages (Mandarin, Korean, Hindi, or similar) is a significant advantage.
