Transportation Claims – Subrogation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and assess commercial transportation claims related to bodily injury, property damage, and liability.

• Conduct investigations into accidents and ascertain liability through the use of police reports, statements, dashcam footage, telematics, and relevant documentation.

• Recognize and initiate opportunities for subrogation and recovery.

• Draft and send subrogation demands accompanied by necessary evidence and documentation.

• Negotiate disputed liability, recoveries, and settlements with insurance carriers, adjusters, attorneys, and third parties.

• Set and maintain appropriate claims reserves while evaluating financial exposure.

• Oversee litigated or high-exposure claims in collaboration with defense counsel and external vendors.

• Seek recoveries, contributions, and indemnifications when applicable.

• Ensure precise claim documentation and timely follow-up until final resolution.

• Collaborate closely with Safety, Operations, Legal, and Risk Management teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of claims experience, ideally within commercial auto, trucking, or transportation sectors.

• Extensive hands-on experience in subrogation and claims recovery.

• Proficient in managing bodily injury, property damage, and liability claims.

• Strong understanding of claims investigation and liability evaluation.

• Demonstrated negotiation skills with insurers, adjusters, attorneys, and other parties.

• Experience in reserving, settlement assessment, and litigated claims.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Capability to independently handle claims from initial review through to settlement or recovery.

• Experience with a self-insured transportation company, fleet, TPA, or large deductible/SIR program is preferred.

• Background in managing tractor-trailer or heavy commercial vehicle claims is preferred.

• U.S. adjuster licensing, where applicable, is an asset and preferred.
