Transportation Analyst – International

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +39 more states.

📋 Description

• Organize and oversee shipments within ICU Medical’s distribution framework.

• Create and coordinate loading schedules.

• Foster relationships with shippers and consignees.

• Supervise carriers and maintain KPI scorecards.

• Monitor and track shipments across various transportation modes including truckload, LTL, drayage, ocean, parcel, and air.

• Address shipment complications arising from labor disputes, weather-related events, natural disasters, and other disruptions.

• Follow up on problematic loads and provide updates to the Manager of Global Transportation.

• Manage and relay shipment tracking details.

• Assist carriers and the global supply chain by providing essential transportation documentation such as BOL, SLI, SED, and hazardous declarations.

• Acquire carrier rate quotes for projects and new transportation routes.

• Arrange and adjust delivery appointments with dispatchers at origin facilities.

• Maintain data in the Oracle Transportation Management System while optimizing the use of preferred carriers.

• Customize load scheduling to align with customer needs.

• Establish and uphold carrier routings throughout the ICU Medical transportation network.

• Investigate any product overages, shortages, and damages; document and submit carrier claims.

• Support efforts in carrier selection and modifications to preferred carrier usage.

• Aid the Senior Transportation Analyst with freight data collection, analysis, and reporting.

• Contribute to ongoing enhancements and optimization of the transportation network.

• Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned by leadership.

• Primarily operate in a sedentary office environment utilizing standard office equipment.

• Candidates must be at least 18 years old.

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.

• At least 2 years of experience managing transportation providers for temperature-controlled substances.

• Familiarity with Federal and State motor carrier regulations is necessary.

• Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is essential.

• Proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

• Understanding of transportation operation processes such as LTL, Truckload, Intermodal, Parcel, Ocean, and Air.

• Strong analytical skills are required.

• Ability to apply logic and reasoning to assess alternative solutions and make data-driven decisions.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong organizational capabilities, including planning, organizing, prioritizing, multitasking, and time management.

• Attention to detail is crucial.

• Experience in the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

• Preferred familiarity with Oracle ERP/OTM System.

• Exposure to and experience managing cold chain, Controlled Room Temperature (CRT), hazardous materials, and controlled substance transportation is advantageous.

• This position is available for remote work in all U.S. states except Colorado, California, Connecticut, Montana, Maine, or New York.
