Health Informatics Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Analyze, mine, and document intricate datasets related to healthcare claims and authorizations to uncover patterns and trends.

• Utilize scripting, data blending, data visualization, and statistical programming languages to convert business challenges into effective strategies and solutions.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to comprehend their needs, gather and acquire data, and structure data for accessibility.

• Interpret findings and present data in a captivating narrative that addresses stakeholder inquiries and informs decisions.

• Identify and resolve issues through data analytics and statistical modeling techniques.

• Conduct ad hoc analyses that vary in complexity and duration.

• Deliver status reports that outline project progress and time allocation for each task.

• Coordinate and mentor analytics initiatives undertaken by internal staff or external consultants.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience.

• High school diploma from an accredited institution or an equivalent GED is required.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare analytics.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring a work visa or residency sponsorship.

• Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a keen attention to detail.

• Effective communication skills; capable of translating and clarifying technical data and insights to non-technical audiences.

• Understanding of pharmacy benefit structures, drug pricing, and claims processing.

• Familiarity with drug coding systems (NDC) and medical coding (ICD, CPT, HCPCS).

• Experience in a Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM), health plan, or payer organization is preferred.

• Experience with transact-SQL (MS SQL or Oracle) is preferred.

• Familiarity with SAS, GCP, Python, and/or other data mining tools is preferred.

• Experience working with large datasets, including data warehousing and business intelligence tools, is preferred.

• Experience with First Databank or Medi-Span is preferred.
