Transmission Line Project Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee transmission line design initiatives, offering leadership, technical expertise, and mentorship to junior engineers.

• Ensure the successful delivery of transmission line projects while adhering to quality standards and specific client requirements.

• Work in collaboration with internal teams across various departments and regions.

• Assist in achieving company goals, business objectives, overall project execution, and enhancing client satisfaction.

• Investigate innovative solutions and consistently pursue improvements to foster progress and efficiency.

• Execute engineering and design tasks as necessary.

• Lead project teams responsible for carrying out transmission line design projects.

• Manage client interactions in both office and field settings to address technical and business inquiries, provide solutions, and minimize adverse effects.

• Contribute to engineering projects and services related to solar, battery energy storage, and utility interconnections.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution or an equivalent Engineering BS degree.

• Preference for candidates with a focus on Power-specific programs.

• Professional Engineer License is required.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and engineering of overhead transmission lines.

• Familiarity with line and structure spotting.

• Experience in route selection.

• Background in structure design and analysis.

• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams to successfully complete transmission line projects.

• Proficiency in PLS-CADD design software and knowledge of the NESC.

• Willingness to travel occasionally and possess a valid passport.

• Extensive understanding of transmission line design principles, industry standards, and applicable codes.

• Capability to develop, adhere to, interpret, and implement internal, client, and industry procedures and standards in complex design contexts.

• Ability to formulate, assess, and evaluate design alternatives based on experience, standards, and regulations.

• Strong communication skills, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Fluency in Spanish is advantageous but not mandatory.
